Carlton Active Leisure Transformation
Welcome
Carlton Active is a proposed new leisure destination designed to support healthier lifestyles, stronger communities and improved wellbeing across Gedling Borough.
The development would replace the existing Richard Herrod Centre with a modern, purpose-built leisure facility that reflects the needs of today’s communities while creating opportunities for future generations to stay active, connect and thrive.
Designed around accessibility, inclusivity and community use, Carlton Active aims to create a welcoming environment for everyone, from families and young people to fitness users, sports clubs, schools and older adults.
The proposals include modern swimming facilities, fitness and wellbeing spaces, family-focused activity areas and flexible community environments, all brought together within a contemporary and sustainable new building.
